1. Summary

Your medications and dose history are kept on your own phone. Ringwell has no accounts, no server that receives your medication data, no ads and no third-party analytics. Two things can send information off your phone, and we list them below: voice input (optional) and a version check.

2. What we process and where it lives

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, contacts or advertising identifier (IDFA), and we include no advertising or tracking SDKs.

Version check. From time to time the app asks Apple (the iTunes Lookup service) and pelmavio.com for public version information, so it can tell you when a newer version is available. The request to Apple includes the app’s identifier and a two-letter country or region code taken from your phone’s region settings; the request to pelmavio.com only fetches a fixed public file. Neither request contains medication data or personal information, and we do not add any identifier of our own. As with any internet request, those servers can see your device’s IP address and the standard technical information your phone attaches to every request (such as the operating system type), and may keep ordinary server logs. pelmavio.com is served by a third-party static hosting provider, which may log visitor IP addresses and request data under its own privacy policy; we do not receive or use these logs, and the website has no cookies, scripts or analytics.

3. Health data

Medication and dose records are sensitive health-related personal information. On first use we explain this separately and ask for your explicit consent; without it, features that store medication data are unavailable. You can erase all data at any time in Settings > Privacy and data, which also resets your consent.

Ringwell does not use HealthKit and does not write your information to iCloud itself. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, iOS may include Ringwell’s data in that backup; that is handled by iOS under your own settings, and we cannot see it. We do not use your information for advertising, marketing or data mining, and we do not sell, rent or share it.

4. System permissions

5. Speech recognition

Speech recognition uses Apple's built-in speech recognition service. Ringwell does not require on-device recognition, so depending on your device, OS version and language, your voice may be processed on the device or sent to Apple for processing; see Apple's privacy policy. The app does not store recordings and does not send recordings or transcripts to our servers. To help recognize medication names and dose wording, the app gives Apple’s recognizer a generic list of common terms; this list is built into the app and does not contain your information.

6. Large language model (AI) parsing: not enabled

The current version parses your speech with on-device rules only (for example, "one tablet every morning at eight"). It does not send your words to any AI model or third-party service.

An AI-parsing interface is reserved in the code for the future. If we enable it, we will: update this policy naming the provider and what is sent; ask for your separate in-app consent (off by default, switchable any time); send only the text needed for parsing, without identity information; and keep manual entry fully available if you decline.

7. What we do not do

8. Retention and deletion

Data is kept on your phone until you delete it. You can:

“Erase all data” deletes Ringwell’s data on this phone. It does not delete copies that are already in an iPhone backup you made; you can manage those backups in iOS settings. Because we do not hold your data, we cannot recover or delete it for you.

9. Your rights

Your information is on your phone, so you can view, edit and delete it yourself in the app, and withdraw consent by erasing your data. We do not receive your information, so we have nothing on our side to give you access to or delete. If you have a question, email support@pelmavio.com. See also “Consumer health data” below.

9A. Consumer health data

We do not receive this information.

10. Children

Ringwell is meant for adults and the people who care for them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Younger users should use it with a parent or guardian.

On iPhones with iOS 26.2 or later, if Apple’s system indicates that age-assurance requirements apply to you, Ringwell asks Apple’s Declared Age Range feature, at most once, for your age range category (under 13, 13–15, 16–17, or 18 and over). Apple’s system shows the request and handles your answer; if you choose to share, Ringwell receives only the age range category, uses it only to comply with age-related laws, and does not change any feature because of it. Ringwell does not store the category and does not send it anywhere, including to us. It keeps only a yes/no note on your phone that it has already asked, so it does not ask again.

11. Medical disclaimer

Ringwell only reminds and records. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, does not check for drug interactions, and is not for emergencies. Follow your doctor or pharmacist for your medications, doses and timing, and seek medical care if you feel unwell. Ringwell is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Reminders may not ring because of your phone’s settings, permissions or system limits (for example, alarm permission turned off, a low volume, Focus or Low Power Mode settings, or an iOS limit on alarms). Please check that Ringwell is allowed to set alarms, and don’t rely on Ringwell as your only reminder.

12. Changes

We will post updates here and change the effective date. For material changes (e.g., enabling AI parsing, cloud sync, family sharing) we will notify you in the app and ask for consent again. We will not collect new kinds of health data, or share it with anyone, without telling you first and asking for your consent.
